What's the difference between a house and a villa??

I'm from Australia and we do not use the term 'villa'...what do they men by the term in the real estate ads? What's the difference between it and a house ??  Mike

google it ..

a house is smaller with  maybe 2 levels at the most , villa  is a bigger building with higher ceilings (usually ) N larger rooms (usually )

A villa in Australia is smaller than a house, on a tiny block of land, less than 300 sq metres.

ok , i cant see if the pictures have attached or not , but the villa is smth like  a building with 2-3-4-5 etc  numbers of separate rooms/apartments, sort of like a small hotel and a house is  a building  where maybe  you and the owner share some dependencies , a kitchen or hallway or u gotto pass through their living room when you walk out

they're the same.  a villa is just a fancy european word for house.  although a house can be more modest and a villa could be more lavish.

Most of the time, a villa will have a stone wall around it, and more land. Houses are mostly in more urban areas, and have less land, may or may not have a wall around it.

House is usually a unit in a block of pteah levengs. Here's a good example near Sovanna shopping center:

Villas are more what we would call a house in the western world. Some good examples in Tuolkork:
