Question! HELP!

Hi, I'm brazilian and I'm married to an american citizen. We are going to visit Brazil in June/2015 but I just now realized that his visa might be expired. Unlike the american visa when I used to be a student here in the US, on the visa they tell the date issued of the visa and the expiration date. On his brazilian visa it only says the date issued is may 17 2010. There's no expiration date. I know that his visa is valid for 5 years but does that mean 5 years the whole year of 2015 or it will expire on may 17 2015 even though they do not specify.
Thanks

If he is a US citizen using a US passport his visa should be valid for 10 years from the date of issue. If that is NOT stated in the text at the bottom of the visa then it is a 5 year visa. See photo below.

If the visa is actually only a 5 year visa then it will expire on May 17, 2015
