Visa Requirements?

Hello Everyone

Thanks for checking my post. I'm moving to Indonesia for a teaching job and I need a little help with some visa information. I've been sent my list of required documents to send in via email scans, The Health requested items are somewhat ambiguous and I'm not sure what the actual document should look like.

One requirement is: quote - " the Certificate of Good Health, i.e. free of HIV/AIDS and DRUGS (Amphetamine, marijuana, morphine, heroin and cocaine) TB, hepatitis, from a hospital/doctor from current country"

Does this match official government requirement? I'm just confused about the way they included "i.e." and then proceeded to list things as examples, which suggested to me something unclear . I'd really appreciate it if anyone has any wisdom on this? I just want to know exactly what is the requirement here. Any details about what others have successfully used as the Health Clearance check would be very helpful.

Also, they also want me to submit a: quote - " Certificate from psychiatrist and/or a psychologist or who have official permission that the person concerned is free of mental and sexual disorders"
I know about that unfortunate scene at JIS. Is this a new requirement as a result? What does this document look like for those that have done it and what has passed as acceptable?

I'm currently working in Bangkok for those of you that may know a little best practice on where to shop for these visa requirements.

Thanks again for reading. I look forward from hearing from you! :)

Would you be kind enough to post a copy of the letter (with your details removed) so we can see what it says?

The rules are somewhat up in the air at the moment, with changing ideas and opinions every few days.
It would be more than interesting to see what the official letter looks like today.

You'll see other threads about Indonesian language requirements and a bunch of other stuff, but pretty much everyone is in a state of confusion.

Thanks Fred.

They sent the list of visa requirements as an email. It's from the office admin at my school. The quotes regarding my queries are included in the 1st post. It is not an official gov't document so it wouldn't be much help in shedding light on any new official requirements

There was talk of a HIV and drugs tests as a requirement, but no one is absolutely sure if it's been brought in or not.
I asked at immigration today, getting told it was not yet socialised (Brought into law)
However, rules tend to change depending on who you ask and if it's the second Thursday in the month.

First I've heard on that one, but the answer from immigration was there were no requirements past the normal things as yet, so I suppose that's the school edging their bets.

...unless the work department people are insisting on things they have no right to insist on. Hardly impossible.

You say that you're in Bangkok presently?  If so, I would head over to Bumrungrad and have them do a physical for you which covers both your medical and mental status.  Bumrungrad is well known in Indonesia as a top SE Asia hospital, and in fact, I've run into several prominent Indonesians there on past occasions.  You'll get a full written report from Bumrungrad which will be signed by several MD's.

Welcome to Indonesia, fast being the land of OZ.

Cheers!

Roy, does that make you munchkin or the tin man?  I think I would be a good scarecrow.
Mental health? Lives in Jakarta? Theres a paradox if ever one existed.

That's what I did. Bumrungrad did it all! They even cleared me of being a future sexual deviant :) Good thing they re refunding the price ... ouch.

Just got an email back from the Indonesian embassy in Canada.

Apparently, they said that I am working towards a "Clearing House Calling Visa"

Google didn't offer much additional info.

Is this a new requirement since the JIS fiasco?

I had to get an HIV test, all 3 Hepatitis, TB, a 6 different drug test, and a letter from a psychiatrist saying I am free from mental sexual disorders.  Been is Asia in 3 places over the last ten years and that's definitely the most visa tasks I've had to do yet.

Anyone else know anything about this?

Calling Visa is usually the approval from the Indonesian Immigration Head Office

This kind of Visa is for countries that requires authorization prior to issuing a Visa requesting a stay more then 90 days or Limited Stay Visa.

"They even cleared me of being a future sexual deviant."

Really?  Man, I used to play golf with the Chief of Staff, and they never gave me one of those certificates!!!

Good luck, and cheers!

Patric, I was offered a job in Indonesia and one of their requirements is a Indonesia drug free certificate which is to cost me 1500usd. What was the sum you had to pay for your certificates?

What kind of job was offered to you?

Who offered you the job and required a drug free certificate ?

Aqua Petroleum by their HR who directed me to a barrister. Barrister demands the money to issue Indonesia drug free certificate. It smells a bit to me and this is why I am asking my question.
The possition offered is Marine Superintendent

A job is offered but not yet secured, they ask you now to pay for a health certificate they wanna issue here in Indonesia without having you around?

Don't do that....

Thanks, this is exactly what I am going to do. Will not send any money blindly. Cheers buddy

My husband was also offered a position at Aqua Petroleum Indonesia Limited as a Mechanical Supervisor Jermark and was also asked to coordinate through a barrister to procure the indonesia drug free certificate. He was aksed to send $500 so that the barrister will be able to process the said requirement. May I ask Jermark if you have accepted the offer? or what actions you have undertaken about this concern? thank you and I am hoping for your response.

How can you get a certificate proving you're drug free without a doctor to certify you are?
That rings alarm bells, but wouldn't mean it's impossible here as there are still a corruption problems in some areas.
Just to be sure, either post the company's contact details here, or send them to me by PM.
Names, telephone numbers, email addresses and anything else you have.
I'll do what I can to check them out, looking for anomalies that could give a clue as to it's validity.
