Well the first thing to do is find out if you qualify for a visa to live and work in NZ. For this try www.immigration.govt.nz

Then I suggest that you read through the posts in the forum categories section of the forum which is on the right hand side of this page. 

If you are looking to work in NZ try  www.seek.co.nz  Jobs in small rural areas may be hard to find as they are taken by locals and not expats.

You should also check out the housing section at the top of this page to give you an idea of rents etc.
