How about Gala in Gzira on Testaferata Street? But watch out for the girls around. THey have stuff to sell too -)))

I do most of my weekly shopping at LIdl  but I do have a car . I also see many people taking the bus with Big Lidl bags so it must be worthwhile even when you have to take a bus trip.

I live in gzira and I think I was only once in that supermarket
I buy stuff either in tower or take bus to LIDL in san gwan

if you don't like taking bags from tower, you can always buy online and get your stuff delivered

There are quite a few which offer home delivery. In some supermarkets, you can do your shop and pay as usual, but then leave your bags at the check-out and they will deliver for you later.

Smart, Carrefour and Pavi also have online shops, it's normally about €5 or €6 for a delivery I think, but Carrefour seem to be offering free delivery for orders over €75 at the moment. I've used both Smart and Pavi online before, when I didn't have a car, and they both give a good service.

Before I had a car, I found it really useful in the hot summer months. I used to do a large on-line shop about once a month, it's handy getting all the heavy and bulky items delivered to your door instead of trying to carry everything back on the bus. Small corner shops are more than sufficient for daily necessities and there are plenty of fruit and veg vans everywhere.

Believe me, when the thermometer starts heading above 30C, it's a major advantage getting half a dozen 6-packs of water arriving on your doorstep.

I agree, we do not have a car so likewise do a big shop once a month and have it all delivered.
Our water is delivered weekly, exchanging 10L bottles.

EcoPure Ltd part of the Farsons group. They offer 10 or 20L containers which we use with a ceramic dispenser.
There are various offers with freebies, depending on how many you order.

It's OK, it's got a capacity of 8.5 litres. Filters are quite cheap and they last about a month. I've had that H2Only website which redmik posted bookmarked for ages. I've just never got around to trying them. It's handy that they deliver those massive bottles to your door, I see their vans driving about all over the place. I've heard good recommendations for them.

I do my weekly shopping in Gala, they might not be the cheapest, but they have a much wider variety of things than Lidl, not to mention that if you need something specific they are willing to order it for you, also they homedeliver if you spend over 40 EUR ( and they are fast, sometimes the goods are home before I walk home with the kids:)). As for the "ladies" of Testaferata, they never bother us, I pass them at least twice a day with the kids, we say hello and they always have something nice to say:)). Of course I would be happy if that area would be cleaned up and gentrified, but it is not really the "ladies" fault.

I also have a good experience of passing by that dodgy street twice a day for a year and I had no complaints whatsoever. And the price, in case you're wondering, is 45 euros including STDs.
