Driving to Malta next year.

Hi all
Going to drive to Malta next year via Dover and would have owned my van for 2 years and easier way to bring belongings and dog.
Has anyone done this in a van and want to find out a rough costing. Thanks

Check out viamichelin for route infromation and cost regarding tolls estimated petrol
also there is a forum post where others have driven to malta from the uk on here

Thanks Rob have looked and not to bad cost but did not give a price for Ferry to Malta but detail is excellent.

This is the only ferry company currently operating to Malta.....

Don't forget to pre notify animal control of your ferry times so they can meet you with your dog.

We drove to Malta a few months ago with the van...the ferry from pozzallo to Malta was very expensive. We paid 600 euro(for 2 passanger+ 5m long van)

Wow, that is expensive. I guess that's what happens when one company has a monopoly on the route to Malta, they can charge what ever they want. Grimaldi used to do quite cheap prices from Genoa and Rome, but they stopped serving Malta a few years ago I think.

Thats expensive just for the ferry,I think it must be the van size that contributed to price.I will still drive when i go as want to take my dog and according to the blog that is around £600.

Here are the rates fort the ferry May - Jun 2015 http://www.virtuferries.com/?p=5952

and 01-19 July & 01-30 September 2015 http://www.virtuferries.com/?p=5986

Should be far less than E300
