Cost of living in Venezuela – 2015

I live in Caracas and here are the prices that I have seen:

> accommodation prices: 3-5 star hotel from 3,000 bsf to 10,000 bsf per night

> public transportation fares (tube, bus etc.): the metro is 8 bsf roundtrip and the costs of the metrobus range from 10-30 bsf depending on where you're going

> food prices (your monthly budget): for a family of 4 who eat a lot of vegetables and fish from 4,000 bsf and upward

> education prices (if you need to pay): the international schools begin at 16,000 USD per year. The French school is the least expensive and can be paid in  local currency starting at 9,000 bsf per month. These prices do not include registration costs, etc

> energy prices (oil, electricity): gas is 8 cents a gallon and electricity is 20 bsf per Kwh

> common bills (Internet, television, telephone, mobile phone): Internet ranges from 200 - 1000 bsf per month depending on the service. Cable with Directv starts at 600 bsf per month. Landline service is about 20 bsf per month and mobile phones have plans starting at 50 bsf.

> price for a good menu in a traditional restaurant: starting at 300 bsf

> price for a coffee or a drink: a coffee is about 20 bsf depending on the establishment

> price for cinema tickets: 250 bsf in the premium theaters
