Hi humbledeniz and thank you for your little introduction.

For your job request it would be best if you can post it in the jobs section here:  https://www.expat.com/en/jobs/asia/myanmar/  as this thread is mainly for the introduction of the members.

Thanks

Priscilla

hi juien and all the others,
I'll be coming to Yangon for about seven weeks early November for an international NGO... it'll depend on how things work out, whether I'll be back afterwards, but the plan is mid January.
My international experience was mostly in Africa, where I spent more than 6 years... mainly in Senegal. More recently, I've also worked in the Philippines, after the devastating tsunami last year.
I'm an economist with a MSc in poverty reduction, specialised in agricultural policy and food security.
I'm also still trying to find out where I could live during my stay: I just don't like to stay in hotels for more than some days. But I've learnt that renting is complicated for foreigners, and haven't yet found any services apartments at hotel sites - you know any? Sub-letting from someone  who's absent - or present - would also be an option. If you've got any ideas, please just let me know! Thanks a lot!
I'd, of course, also be very happy to get in touch with other expats in Yangon to get to know the place, learn about politics and culture... and just have good company dining or for a beer.
Hope to be in touch with you soon!
Best wishes,
Elisabeth

Hello everyone,

Just a quick reminder that the topic of this particular forum is "New members of the Myanmar forum, introduce yourself here" and as such it is for the new members to introduce themselves only.

I think most of you will agree that if everyone starts a new topic and replies to different posts on the SAME thread, it is really difficult for anyone to get any useful information from the forum; thus nullifying the main purpose of the forum.

So, I suggest that the members who have any questions pertaining to a specific topic; should post their messages on the Myanmar forum in the specific categories allotted.

This will make it easier to get precise and useful information and also avoid everyone from being off topic on this thread.

Thank you for understanding :)
