How conservative/liberal are Qataris actually?

I'd just like to learn a bit more about the culture of Qatar and how conservative the country is. So here are some questions I've been wondering.
How strictly is shariah followed?
Does everything close during prayer times and is there gender sergeration?
And how is the womens status there? Do qatari for example women work or are they usually housewives?
What about dating amongst the locals, is it common?
Also how often do Qatari men wear other clothes apart from the thawb or women apart from the abaya? And how common are niqabs?

In general I'd like to know how religious/conservative the native Qataris are.
