Hello all,
I have a question about the age at which kids start school in Guatemala. This concerns the1980s. Is it normal for that time period because of the armed conflict for a child to start elementary school later, say at age 11.
Any input would be appreciated.

The civil war, no money for uniforms, no local school/school teacher, having to work for the family, ... can all affect this. I know someone who just finished her tercer basico a few months ago at 22.
