English Speaking Dentist

Hey fellow expats, can anyone recommend an English speaking dentist in Brussels or the surrounding area?

I have dental work which I need doing but I don't really fancy putting it off any longer, especially when I have no idea when I'll be popping back over to the UK next.

Thanks.

Mine is ok he doesn't speak perfect English but is pretty good. I let him touch my mouth and I hate the dentist. It was in Sint-Genesius-Rode saw the guy on the saturday. Will post the full address etc when I can find it

try giving them a call

Try Flemish speaking dentists. Depends on where in Brussels you are travelling from. Plenty of dentists in Tervuren in particular will have English speaking clients. For example
Dentalvision,
Leuvensesteenweg 7  3080 Tervuren
02 767 95 96

You should try with the European Medical Center
Square Ambiorix 40  1000 Bruxelles
02 280 13 42
They speak pretty much all major european languages (many of them as a mother language) and cover many medical fields. If they do not have dentists, they may advise on English-speaking ones?

Check prices before you go, especially if with a mutuelle. The dentist I gave in the example is conventionné and also very reasonable which surprised me for Tervuren. I asked my family doctor where he went and he recommended there.

A big thank you to hannahhadman, schoolmum and Oliviero for the speedy replies.

Some great information and plenty to be getting on with there, you've saved me a headache (or should that be a toothache?) looking around for suitable dentists.

You're all stars, thank you! :D

Do you have health insureance here. If you do its best to go for the check up frist then the work done that way you can claim more of it back. My dentist explained this to me but gave me a freebe cos I went right away to have the work done so he just charged for a check up.

Yes, one of the first things I done when I arrived in this country was set sort out my health insurance.

Looks like I'm sorted for a dentist too, I'm thoroughly delighted.

Again, thank you for your help everyone! :D

I need an English-speaking dentist, too.  Thanks everyone for your advice!

Hi! I'm moving to Belgium next month and planning to wear braces.  Can you please recommend someone good or a clinic where I can get it done? Do you have an idea of how much it might costs me? thanks

she speaks english too

My dentist is Dr Declercq, French lady with studies in the US, so her English is quite good. Dental treatment in Belgium is quite expensive, in case you cannot afford it, instead of looking for a cheap doctor in Belgium, it would be wiser and safer to use the services of one of the clinics in Romania, Czech Republic that specialise in health tourism ... booming industry by the number of ads in the Ryanair in-flight magazine.

Something that costs 3K or 5K in Belgium costs half the price in those countries.

ask your Mutualité and they will be able to provide a list of dentist.  Drs/Dentists are like lottery, two persons can go to the same for the same treatment and get two different service level but they are generally ok

Need a cosmetic dentist doesn't have to be in Belgium. I will travel for
the right one. All I have heard about Belgium dentist is they pull your teeth
if something goes wrong. So if anyone has any recommendations please let  me
know.
