Just wanted to say you cannot always rely on people.
We were traveling to Hurgerda in Egypt last year for a stay of 6 weeks.
Wanted to get some local knowledge of the area. A couple of individuals from this site offered to meet up for a chat neither turned up.
My comment is to remind people that you cannot always rely on strangers so have another option if you are meeting up for something very important for you.

Depends on who those individuals are. If they are Egyptian men, some of them have ulterior motives for why they want to meet foreigners (looking for a way out of Egypt). It could have came to their attention you're not the right person to target.

Not Egyptian both English, a couple in their 60s and a single women in her 30s. All lived locally so thought we could get some decent information from them for our stay.
Just wanted to warn members to not be surprised if meetings don't work out.
If you are meeting up for the first time make sure it is in the afternoon at a cafe or similar.
