Urgently looking for a job in Noord Holland (Haarlem, Alkmaar, A'dam)

Hello,

My name is Penny and I am in a kind of difficult situation. I am legally here by marriage for the last 5 years and I have one child. I have been unsuccessfully looking for a job for a long time. Unfortunately, I am getting divorced and since I am not a Dutch citizen and as I said, here by marriage, I urgently need a job to be able stay in NL with my child and be able to take care of him. Please, send me a message if you have ANY information on ANY job vacancy.  I speak English, Dutch on a medium/good level and Greek. I am very hard working and not afraid of a challenge. Thank you very much in advance.

Hi Penny

I just read your post and yes it such a difficult situation. The easiest job to find in Holland is in horeca. Restaurans or cafes. Try Amsterdam. They mostly dont really required perfect Dutch. You can also try Greeks rest. I hope you find the job you want and be able to manage a better life situation.

Cheers,
Zomer

Thanks a lot for your response. It's good to see that at least one person is left that cares about the troubles of others and not like everyone who doesn't give a damn. Thank you.

Hello Serres-Dutch,

You can also post an ad with your CV included in the Jobs in Haarlem section.

I wouldn't say no-one else gives a damn - we are part of this community to support each other and receive advice/tips...but I wouldnt say sympathy.

Many people go through tough times as expats but the important thing is to remain strong and concentrate on doing all you can.

While it is good to get practical advice on finding work on the forum, I do not think you be offered a job from your post. There as so many job agencies especially based where you are looking for work.

Considering you understand Dutch, as well as offering another language, I cant imagine it will take long to find something. Also check the message boards in your local AH. Good Luck!

I agree from the post above and some advice is been given as well.

You are a member since 2010 and  you posted since then six times (including twice on this thread).
So who is not caring or sharing?

I suggest you try the Hanze University of Applied Sciences. They are looking to recruit about 1400 people 2014/2015. You will need a Masters degree to teach but I if you don't have that I expect there are lots of other posts, especially ones requiring English.

Sorry Penny, what I should have said, dependent on where you are in the NL, is try a HBO school (Hanze is in Groningen).

Looking for a job in Holland is difficult. Eventhough you have your work experiences en degree from your own country. I suggest you to get out of the box for awhile. Choose a job which is beyond your comfort zone. And I can say most of those jobs are below your expectation. But... in other way you will get to taste Dutch work environment and get out of your shells. More socialising and get to know new people which means more opportunities.  Suggestions: Summer is coming. Lots of companies lookig for people to work in restaurant or beach clubs. Fun work and it pays bills. Along the way you'll find your way up to your dream job. I've been there....

Hi. Listen I know a place where you could provably find something fast but it is in Noordwijk ZH.  huisterduin.com there are always looking for people.  Sucess
