Seems getting internet fixed connection has become lot harder. Before choice was orange claro tricom Seems getting a fixed Internet connection is now a load of hassle in Sosua. Apparently before there was a choice of Claro,Orange and Tricom. Not any more! Went to Orange they dont do fixed connection, only expensive mobile dongle.Tricom it seems is not in Sosua any more at all. That left only Claro.Went to LaPola office they said, you cant do it here,go to PP main office with passport. Then was told passport is not good enough needed resident permit which I dont have or proof of income. So a wasted trip to PP and seems unable to get Internet. Now using Internet cafes, not a practical solution. And damned expensive! Also a rip off at times, last Sunday got charged 110 peso for 50 minutes. Internet of course is vital, but now it appears it is being made very hard with more expense, bureaucracy or lack of choice.Used to be so easy.last year used Tricom, took passport to office, had connection same day, very efficient.
Good old days are done so it seems, still no Net with no solution in sight.
