Hi all,

Newbie on the Senegal forum? Don't know how to start?

This thread is for you ;)

It will enable us to help you better but above all to wish you a warm welcome.

Welcome on board!

i am from Sudan but i live in Senegal

Thank you very much. I am considering moving to Abene, though I have more friends and  family in Gambia. I come from the bush in Australia and I love the forest in Casamance and I have a few friends there. But I cannot speak French! I can speak a bit of Mandinka, very little Wolof, a tiny bit of Susu, and say hello in Jola and Fula, so it will be difficult. Gambia is easier for me, I have many many friends and close family there, but I just love Abene. It is only a motorbike, pirogue and a couple of cars to my friends in Gambia. For Australians it is not far! I travel 40 km to get to the shops here in Australia! I usually live in local accomodation with local people when I am staying in West Africa, and I am used to not having electricity or running water in the house or cooking etc. I do not have much income, and may have none. I need a way to feed myself and the inevitable group that will be around me. This is my other big problem. I hope to be back there soon, I am homesick for Africa.
