Just returned from a one week stay at Pulau Tidung which included trips to several of the other islands. To put it briefly - don't waste your time unless you want to spend a fortune and stay at one of the private resort islands. The rest of them are dumps. Trash all over the beaches, the water isn't clear and the food is bland.

I was less than pleased with that one.
Many others are said to be better, but cost a lot more.

Yep know all that and you stayed there a week? A day is enough. Better take the short flight to Bangka or Belitung where the beaches and waters are amazing.
