Thank you so much...now that we have that, where to go from here. My kids are currently at Rowad but I'm looking for something different...an international school with strong Academics but focuses just as much time on Arabic, Quran and Islam. I saw a school named Taqwa on the list that sounded intriguing. Do you know anything about that school?

Al-salamu Alikom..

Hey there,
could you please tell me about Al-Rowad  international school??
i am moving to Riyadh and it is on my list for my boys.. could you tell me why do you think to move from it? I would be so grateful if you share your experience..
Thanks in advance..

It's a tough question. I actually think Rowad is pretty good, compared to others. I particularly like that they try to keep things Islamic. That's the main reason why I put my kids there, because there really are not many choices here if you want a good named international school that also protects the Islamic culture. Alalameen is another international school that also tries to keep an Islamic culture in the school. My kids went there for one year, and then they will be finishing their 2nd year at Ar-Rowad soon insha'Allah. I'm on the fence about next year only because I hoped for more from it, but I hear from everyone that we will never find what we are looking for, so we will end up moving our kids around every year which is hard on them and us. If you don't care about an Islamic culture in the school, there are much better choices in regard to academics, extracurricular activities, administrative organization, and student discipline. Still, even with the adherence of Islamic values as a school itself, my kids are still exposed to lots of bad words and improper behavior and even bullying among other kids...usually in the chaotic breaktimes and on the bus.  Academics is okay, its not bad nor is it excellent but I'm speaking for elementary grades. I'm happy with some aspects and disappointed in others. The Arabic and Quran program really disappoints me. I needed my kids to have a really strong program but it's very weak. We still may stay because for the price and the values of the school itself, and the proximity to our house, and it's not Poor in academics, it's not worth risking a bad experience in another school. I will say the type of parents that put their kids into Rowad seem to be good, maybe all hoping and looking for a school to preserve the deen a little while our kids are away.  Many of us help and support each other through whatsapp groups.

I heard pAkistan international school  building is changing

Just a question? We are leaving UK in July to meet my husband in Riyadh and I'm looking at British Int school, my daughter will be going in to Yr 10!
I've been in touch and apparently she needs a medical by our GP done which is on the application form? Is this correct?
Also I'd like to see the school before laying out money to book her a place but they're saying it needs to be booked!
I'm confused

British school in Riyadh has a huge waiting list. Its probably a good thing to put yer daughters name in the list now. Good schools in KSA in general are rare.

Thank you so much will be sorting out this week if this is the case as we need her to get in there x
