Health insurance for registration in tax office

Hello,

I will move to Sweden next year without a job but with enough money to live one year. As I am sending a container with my furniture from Japan, I am told that I need to register to tax office so that my shipment is tax free. And for this I need to contract a health insurance during a year. The requirements from the tax office are very high (I basically need to be covered for everything). Do you know which insurances are OK for tax office and how much do they cost per month? I fear I might need to pay several hundred euros per month.

Hello Delphine, The issue of private health insurance is somewhat of a problem. Over the past year I've been in touch with numerous Swedish and EU departments who deal with stuff like this and it always comes down to the same thing; private medical insurance that is acceptable to the Swedish tax office must be fully comprehensive and unconditional.
