Requirements for jobseeker in norway

Hi my name is william and im planning to get a jobseeker visa for norway. Im from the philippines and i heard udi has been rejecting a lot of applicants.  Can someone give me a good advise about getting a jobseeker visa?  Thanks for reading this: )

have you checked the UDI information for job seekers? It's a good place to start. There used to be an official job seeker visa but they stopped issuing it a few years ago so these look like your only option:

thanks you so much for this link. it was very helpful. Under A Jobseeker who has recently graduated,i can see one of the reuirements is: You must recently have graduated or be a researcher, hold one of the following residence permits and apply before your permit expires: student at university college or university,  student at upper secondary school, additional education in order for your education to be recognised in Norway, or researcher with own funds.

Does this mean i have to study at a university in norway or enroll myself at upper secondary school before my permit expires?

Thanks!

I believe it means that you have to already be on a student permit and studying at a school in Norway before you can apply for the job seeker visa. So, this visa is designed for people who have been studying in Norway and want to transition into the labor force.

i believe jobseeker and the student permit for skilled workers to study norwegian language is currentlt on hold or cancelled for the Philippines.

i  know someone who applied for this study permit even as a renewal got rejected even if she has been here in norway for a year and applied from inside here. The UDI said they have received ao much applications and that some applicants doesnt have the needed funds.

so i can suggest if you want to seek a job here are:

1.  study the language while in the Philippines then you can apply for a tourist visa and search for an employer while being a tourist then go back to the Philippines to get the proper visa and legalization of the job and other paper works. Becuase you cannot work on a tourist visa.

2. Or if you know someone who is in Norway, ask them to find you an employer.

To work here the language is their number 1 requirements mostly so if you have that part covered i think you just need to find the proper opportunity to find an employer.

I hope this is somehow helpful.

Hi William,

We actually have the same scenario. The Jobseekers Visa says that you must have normally gotten a job offer first to apply for it. I have tried applying for jobs online through nav.no and got some replies from employers but was not shortlisted. I am considering applying for a tourist visa while still applying for jobs online. All the best and good luck!
