Working visa

Hi, my husband got a job offer in Kuwait. We are a large family (5), in order to be able to live there, I would also have to work. My questions are:
1) Can I work even though it is my husband who is entering the country with the working visa?
2) It is hard for a female, 40 yrs, with an American Degree in Business Administration (fluent in 3 languages Portughese, Italian and English) find a job?
3) If I do find a job, it is hard to manage kids's school and work?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum. I will try to answer your questions.

1. If you find an employer, you can work as your visa will be transferred from a dependent to a work visa. The company who employs you will be your sponsor and not your husband. If you ever stop working you can transfer you visa back to your husband.
2. Don't know first hand as I don't have experience with that line of business, but I would say it is not from what I have seen and heard.
3. This is probably your biggest concern. Schools charge an exorbitant amount of money, with three kids make sure you earn enough to cover the cost. There are other challenges like finding a daycare or means to get them around, so you will probably need a driver.

Hi BBB13

1) Can I work even though it is my husband who is entering the country with the working visa?
Yes ! :) when you find a job you can transfer your residency from your husband to the company u will work in

2) It is hard for a female, 40 yrs, with an American Degree in Business Administration (fluent in 3 languages Portughese, Italian and English) find a job?
Easy enough and I would recommend to try Alshaya http://careers.alshaya.com and apply in the major companies such as , Alghanim industries http://www.alghanim.com/CorpWeb/Careers/index.htm , etc.. and  use the online recruiting sites such as Bayt http://www.bayt.com , Monster http://kuwait.monstergulf.com and
linkedin https://www.linkedin.com

3) If I do find a job, it is hard to manage kids's school and work?
You are the only person qualified to answer that question :) though I suggest in that case to have a resident house maid

Good luck

1- I guess the guy's answered this pretty accurately.

2- Well, do you have a prior work experience or would it be your first job?  I imagine it's not that hard if you do have any experience then you would be able to find something in a relevant industry, but if it's gonna be your first job ever then that would make it a bit harder.

3- Depends on your answer to the above question!!

Good luck with it!
