Extending one's staying

Hello!

If one enters Thailand, visa-free (http://www.mfa.go.th/main/contents/file … 873017.pdf Ordinary passport/30 days), can he extend his staying by another 30 days?

Thanks!

Can be extended at any immigration office.

Thank you! Do you know if the procedure is mainly a formality, or is it very complicated?

We will have exit airplane tickets, so the immigration will see we are not coming back another time to ask for an extension.

Thanks

Since late August 2014 when new police regulations were implimented, extensions of 30 days to 30 day visa exempt entries have in MOST* cases become available.

The process is fairly painless, but sometimes Immigration can be busy.

You need to complete form Form TM7. Copy passport pages + depature card. Have fee of 1900 Baht per person.
Go to LOCAL immigration office

I assume you are from a visa exempt country, with 30 day entry, and not one with *Bilateral Agreement  with Thailand since in the latter case extensions are not available.
