Considering a move to Panama

Buenos Dias!  I am considering a move to Panama with my SO in the next year.  I have lived in St. Petersburg Florida  for 25 years so I understand hot and humid.  And a few years in Miami gave me some Spanglish, which needs an upgrade.  I'm in my 50's and my SO is in his 60's.  Hope to explore different regions, and decide if this is a place we want to settle down for a while.  Hoping for help in navigating things like housing, where it is feasible to go without a car and where one is needed, how to manage the details of life back home and how the visa process works if you aren't sure you want to pursue temporary residency.  Ideally we are trying to piece together a year-long exploration of Panama and Costa Rica to assess our options so logistics are going to be rather complicated.  I appreciate all the assistance the members can give and thank you for participating so the newbies can learn from you!

That's a lot of questions! Maybe start with these

Oh, and you can stay 180 days as a tourist, but your drivers  license is only good for 90. If you leave and cross the border then you are good for another 180 / 90 days. I wrote a blog post about it.  Now you also have to buy an exit stamp if you leave Costa Rica blog.thepanamaadventure.com/2013/11/17/crossing-the-panama-costa-rica-border/
