Hi All,
I am considering a job in Lae and my wife would also be coming along for the adventure. We are both Australian (although my wife was born in NZ), we are early 40's and would really appreciate any information on your experiences in Lae, what living there is like, what to do after hours and on weekends, what the ex-pat community is like, is there any sporting groups or gyms to join, what the safety is like and probably a silly question but has anyone brought their dog with them?
Considering working in Lae - any information would be appreciated

I know lae. It is a good place. I would rate the following
1. Food is surplus with low price compared to Port Moresby
2. Population is less than port moresby
3. Lae is the industrial area in PNG
4. Lae you can go to Mandang adn Goroka.
5. Have good residental areas.
6.Moro Exploration comapny in Morobe
7.The people of Morobe are friendly.
8. It is called raining lae becaus of heavy rain.

Thay have most thinkings u won't your safety is the only thing but if you get to know the locals and take the time to talk to the little Man U will be ok still I keep the widows up and doors locked and always leave space between u and the car infrunt of u to get out of there if thay try to car jak u tha r despret for money and will do wot they need to get food sad but I got to love and respect the locals and could walk the streets no problems
