Need to know living expanse in Kuala Lumpure

Hi,

I am living in karachi, paksitan. I have a job offer with compensation 4200 RM including residence.
I have to bear all rest expanses. I have family including a 3 month child. Could you suggest me Is that enough money to live in kuala lumpure and How much money I can save?

What kind of employment visa will you be offered? Some of them dont allow you to bring your family. You need to check that out.

Its a low salary but you can survive on it without much savings if you are 2 adults and 1 child and live how you do in your home country. Malaysia is no longer a cheap place to live.

KL is 75% more expensive than Karachi according to research.

If the company provide accommodation as mentioned by you,  well it's enough but depends on with or without family. If with family, well, I agree with Gravitas.

End.

Way too low. A rubbish salary Malaysians with a family would sniff at. A friend went to hospital with a fever and ended up 2,000 rm poorer. With a baby? You must not take this salary. One sickness and you are bankrupted!

Plenty of people are living on under RM3k per month in Malaysia.

"Expats" come from many backgrounds and at many levels on the earnings level and professional ladder. You must earn at least 3 times what you currently are paid to make this job even worth considering. Probably 4 times.

If you are going to be under the foreigner worker permit, you cant bring your wife and child. You will not qualify for an employment pass as the salary is too low.  You really need to sort out your working status and permit to know whether to accept this job offer.

Personally, I think you will find if its manual work you will be doing, you might be sharing a room with other people - so also check out what kind of accommodation you are being offered. Just to enter hospital for emergency care if you have an accident or injury, you need to pay a RM800 deposit.

There are lots of manual workers involved in the MRT construction, road building, maintenance and upgrading. There are also people involved in the service industry, but at your salary level I guess you have some technical professional skills and are not an office worker.

Your employer should provide health insurance and if you have an accident or illness you can to to Hospital KL or another Government hospital and pay a lower rate for care. But I have my doubts it will cover your wife and child. Check this out. I think you will be putting your family at quite a risk if they do not have health coverage.

Do you guys have any clue or even bother to ask his Position offered? Simply ask him in other way to reject the offer? What if the offer is for Personal Driver? Or Junior Engineer or Non Executive Position? If so, don't you think the idea for him to demand 3 or 5 times or Rm10K is absurd?  About the medical treatment, it's a compulsory by labour law of Malaysia standard to all the company registered and it also part of company policy must provide the medical care to the employees base on their category  level and position.
If you are saying one of your friend been charged for RM2K just for a normal fever treatment, where the hell is this hospital located and is it under VVIP Super duper ROYAL HOSPITAL? Or he might suffering any other internal organ failure or he been infected by Denggi.  Tell your friend to Sue the hospital. In Malaysia people don't used to go to the hospital for fever unless serious and critical condition or emergency ICU or major injured in accident cases. Clinic is good enough and will cost you not more than Rm50.
My cost of treatment for Angiogram at specialist Prince Court Medical centre is less than that  Further, it's a VIP Class of Treatment.

Please don't kill other people ambitious by scary them with all the Rubbish information.

Arden, as a newcomer, I dont think you understand how the forum works.  Please respect that everyone is entitled to their opinion and it is not your place to criticise what others write.

Dear Gravitas,

Yes, I'm a new comer and I do respect to people that know how to respect others especially to local.
If others used the phrase as "A rubbish salary Malaysians" Is it a wrong act  or miss conduct if I make used the words in return? I am Malaysian and indirectly I represent all Malaysian.
My statement is sincerely asking a cooperation to the readers or members try not to give such a wrong information or deliver a negative thought to the person asking. The members that post a question or need further information are really need others member to help and come out with encouragement spirit and positive respond instead of killing it. Especially with a wrong information that makes them feel upset and wanted to throw the offer letter in the toilet bowl. The worst part is when the response or reply by others indirectly sounds like he/she  telling the person is silly by accepting the offer or you are asking stupid question etc. (I refer in general to others issue).
The moderator of this blog should monitor this such of behaviour in order to maintain the standard and professionalism of members in this blog.

Respect is not something that you can simply get. You have to gain the respect. To gain a respect you must implement to respect others no matter you are newbie or senior or how high you are standing. You are still a human being. Not a horse for riding.

Anyway, my apology to all especially to you Gravitas and Thank you for highlight this issue.

Regards
