Bahrain: a professional and cultural adventure

If you wish to discover new cultures along with finding better job opportunities, Bahrain may be the ideal destination for you.

The 7th HSBC Expat Explorer Survey, released this Wednesday, 22nd October 2014, lists Bahrain among the world's 34 best destinations in terms of expatriation. Indeed, Bahrain ranks 5th after Switzerland, Singapore, China, Germany and is followed by New Zealand and Thailand, among others. In fact, Bahrain has been nominated as one of the countries which offer the best jobs prospects and the highest wages despite the high cost of living in terms of accommodation and food.

Note that this study was conducted among some 9,300 expatriates in some hundred countries around the globe. They have been invited to give their opinions and share their feelings about the quality of life, financial well-being, as well as ease of raising a family abroad. Bahrain stands out not only for offering attractive job opportunities and higher wages, but also a pleasant environment and lifestyle.

Indeed, 84% of respondents say they have been able to adapt to the local culture and enjoy the local cuisine. Moreover, 75% of them claim to have no trouble making new friends in the country. With regard to work, they admit being able to maintain the balance between their social and professional lives. They also reveal that they have found a better job and earn more in Bahrain they could have earned in their respective home countries.

Safety, child care and health care are Bahrain's other key strengths. In fact, 60% of expat parents claim to be satisfied with the country's child care and education systems, while 65% believe that their children's health has greatly improved since they have settled in Bahrain.

Thanks for posting this. WHilst this may seem like great news, these findings have to be taken with a pinch of salt. As with other societies in the world, there is also "another side" to Bahrain - poorly paid semi and unskilled workers, struggling to eke out a living here.
