Which is the cheapest cell phone company in UK?

Hello everyone,

I moved to Wales five days ago and I need a British number for my cell phone.

I still don't know if it will be prepaid or contract, but I would need Internet connection when I'm away from home, being prepaid or contract.

Do you have any idea about which is the most affordable company?

I know I'm in the England forum and I'm currently in Wales, but I want to post this thread here because I guess there are more people in this forum.

Thanks,

Andrea

I see that you're still part of the England forum. I assume you intend to return back to England in the future? What did you study here for your Masters?

Lyco is good value for international calls although for best value calls within the uk it is giffgaff.com. They use o2 network so coverage is pretty  good

Thanks to all of you who replied to my post.

I finally chose giffgaff. It definitely has the best rates.

Cheers.

Hi Andrea

I don't quite no who is the cheapest, but if you go to a shop called the "carphone warehouse" they'll be able to give you the information your after or you can look them up online. It a shop in the UK, that sells mobile phones and tablet computers. They will certainly give you the guidance your after.
Phil,
PS I live in wales, outside of Chester.

GiffGaff are a real treat.  :)

O2

I like Voda.
Great coverage and reasonable internet speeds.
Not the cheapest, but cheapest isn't always best.
International call cards are available in many Asian shops, making such calls very cheap.

Lebara is really cheap. They offer very good packages for students.
