Not working but visiting for three months

Hi!!

I have a unique situation that I'm starting to worry about now that I've read many of these posts. I'm an American who is trying to break into the horse racing scene on an international level and have accepted an offer of an internship with one of the racing outfits in Manama. I would be living there from mid-Janury to mid-April 2015 with the hopes of going back and forth between Bahrain and Dubai a 3 or 4 times before heading home to the US for the summer.

It isn't exactly a job so I'm worrying about the kind of visa I would need.

Can anyone point me in the right direction here? I want things to be done legally, of course.

Thank you!!

The best people to answer this question will be the potential "employers". Since this is a short term assignment, my guess is that they will probably get you in on a visit visa and make you renew your visa when it runs out.

A full fledged work visa is usually for a period of 2 years and it is unlikely your employers would get one of these for you.
