Yea, its a great offer but depends on your profile and experience.

People here even make more than that.. but this 40k excluding housing will help you maintaining a good life style, trips and savings too.

I mean the salaries in Kingdom varies depending on your qualification, nationality and passport.
I am not a doctor, so wrt salaries I cannot comment.

you must be hired as either a specialist surgen or like the chief of some surgical department because even the good surgeons i know out here dont make 1/4 of that!! so make sure they didnt type in an extra 0 in their "offer"

This is a good offer. what type of hospital is it, MOH, private,Military or National guard.

I think it is very good offer as some asian young doctors are getting SR 6000 pm.Some doctors working at clinics are getting that might be even less+++Goodluck and don,t mis this opportunity if u like to work in KSA+++

Depends on which type of hospital you will be working. National guard, military and regional centres have better working and professional environment

King Faisal specialist hospital pay scales are more generous then most other hospitals in KSA.

I've been told by some they offer less salary and by some they offer more.  My husband is getting better salary at King Fahd but they only cover three children's expenses (school, tickets, etc) and we are soon to have five. King Faisal covers four children's business class tickets, education, etc.  So we were told to cover the fifth child they give cash then we can buy our own economy tickets or foot the bill for the extra business class ticket. Then for education, they give 22K per year and the schools arrange their fee structure to meet their guidelines so that we have all of their expenses met.  My husband was getting 15000 SR more at King Fahd, but all in all it wasn't as good of a hospital as King Faisal.  We had to really break everything down. I'm not sure salary wise though K. Faisal pays more. But overall I think they offer a better package.

In Riyadh the pay even for some military hospitals were much more than King Faisal. But we preferred to live in Jeddah.

It takes persistence in negotiating pay for sure...a giant headache. 

What we've been told from people working in King Faisal is to make sure you're happy with the salary you agree on because the yearly 15% increase has been halted.  I am not sure what that means though because in the contract my husband gets a bonus each year equal to his salary, so like 14 pay checks per year. We were also told if my husband were to leave at some point solely due to salary (which doesn't get further negotiated even after expiration of contract) then they wouldn't hire him back. But if he left for some other normal reason then they would hire back. This person was stressing how important it is to get what you will be happy with long term.

this is funny because if a qualified non-american would happen to get a job (LEGALLY) in america, and if he demanded things like "free housing, tuition for his kids, ticket back home each year...." they would just laugh at the poor guy!

i DONT ask for all that from my company because i can afford it on my grossly overpaid salary. which you should be able to afford too with your SR 40,000 a month "normal" salary.

I am not sure what you mean really. Physician salary in the U.S. is much more than the 40K SR. It is even more than the 40K SR plus the extra benefits. This is whether you are white, black, brown, etc. Depending on the field, there is really a tremendous difference, as well depending on the city.

ETA, I really find your post confusing, not mean or anything, but I just can't understand what you mean.

Anyway, when I said normal..yes that is a normal salary. You have to be careful and negotiate salary in KSA because it can really wildly vary! He will feel jipped if he goes to work and on the first day he arrives he learns a colleague doing his same job is earning much more. This is why people try to find out what is normal.

thats hilarious that you dont even know that alot of young residents physicians (ASIAN QUALIFIED) who go to USA after doing USMLE get JOBS in best hospitals all over US that too with all the said benefits. my brother is working in bufalo and other in alabama and they all get same benefits like kids tution fess and free housing etc.. may be you dont even know alot of docs in your own home land. so stop laughing atleast on others. please!

No dear Doctor, this is not the way it works.

After talking USMLE, steps 1->4, then applying for residency, then when and (if) they get a residency, there is a salary associated with the residency... and it does not change much, from year to year, and it is usually well on (down) below 100K, and no they do not buy plane tickets and give free tuition to children. This is laughable.  The residencies Internal Medicine and Family Practice, is where these already (working doctors) go, to [re-train] as (residents) for the next (three) years. THEY ARE NOT Licensed Physicians, THEY ARE RESIDENTS, they have to stay there in the training hospital, and [retrain]... for the next three years right along with other medical residents. Some go into Asian dominated residency programs, where there isn't a single American resident in training, and it shows.... But the bottom line is the salaries are not high, cost of living is what's high... and there are little if any perks, sometimes there is not even free parking....

IT is usual to negotiate salary or just benefits? I asume salary depends on a fixed scale. Or not? If you have Any advise concerning to the way to do this please let me know.

well if its a Govt job (MOH, MODA etc) then there is going to be a scale and nothing much can be negotiated in terms of salary.. The benefits you are already going to get for a family status but you may inquire about shifting allowance and kids tuition fee allowances etc if they are willing to give.. however if the job is of pvt sector then there is naturally a big scope for negotiations on salary and benefits both.. as far as I know king faisal cardiac center comes under MODA section MSD.. (Medical services division of Ministry of defence and aviation) and the scale is fixed. it might be 14 or 13th scale you will probably be getting and the offers are mostly good enough with no reason left for negotiation in MODA offers..

My wife has completed MD Dermatology and she is a fresher.
We are a couple with no child.
Both are from India and we are offered a job of general practitioner and dermatologist at the salty of SR 8000 and SR 14000 per month respectively at Jubail, Saudi Arabia with 2 year contract.
This is in addition to accommodation,transportation, return flight ticket, yearly 30 days paid leave equivalent to respective salary.

Sir please guide me if this salary is good enough or not worth going for this.

60,000 SAR is a good offer !

What position is it for ?

For a GP that salary would be anything between 8000-9000 !
That is what GP's at Government hospitals get !

And for a dermatologist 14 K is fair enough

You both will be saving good money
