Non Native english teacher.

hi everybody, I am a Ghanaian with bachelor of education degree and more than four years teaching experience. I intend to move to South Korea but it appears I would have problems looking for a job as a teacher, as I am not regarded as a native English speaker, even though English is my first language. I would be grateful for information regarding my chances of securing a job as an English teacher. Best regards.

As I understand things over there, the American accent is prized, so they're after mainly American teachers.
I know some countries have strict rules regarding who they can hire.
In Indonesia, it's the British, Americans, Australians, New Zealanders and Canadians.
There may be similar rules in Korea.
As a note, and an unpleasant one at that, over here there is an unofficial requirement for a white skin - that may also apply in SK.
Sad, but true.
