Hi we've just arrived in malta - family of five. Do you still have meet ups on the beach in Sliema? Would like to get to know a few people... Especially with kids. We have 2 boys aged 10 and 6 and a little girl who will turn three in a few weeks x

Hi Lori,

we havn't started this years meet-ups on the beach in Sliema as it is still too cool in the evenings. I will post when we start again.

I'm not sure if it is the right place for kids in the evening though. We start at 7 pm and the beach is rocky and the water quite deep.

So stay tuned . We should be there within the next 2 or 3 weeks.

Hello people, Its been great reading that so many people want to meet up and socialise... I moved to malta just over a month ago it wasnt planned so have been learning as I go! This forum could be the right place but my situation is a little different.. im 33 and have a 14 year old daughter so we're both young not that gaby would agree!     We're both excited for the world cup so if theres maybe a group who'd like to meet up and watch the footie or go to the beach/waterpark or any other ideas??... let me know  im also interested in your regular meet-up on a wednesday the picnic on the beach sounds great... look forward to meeting some of you soon

after a trial run this afternoon including two dips in the calm waters we have  decided to open this years beach meeting season coming Wednesday 11 June at 7 pm on the rocky seafront beneath the St. Julians Tower ( which is in Sliema , near Exiles club but a bit around the corner. Take the steps down next to the Creperia..

Bring drinks and food and if in doubt about the location I will fly a flag or call me on 7777 1951 when you are nearby.

yes and no !

Our spot is is a bit around the corner of Tower Road!

WAlk past the public toilets and playground , past the Towrer and the Creperia and then down the steps and when on the rocks straight ahead ! I'll fly a flag -)))

Great. Listen, I need to check it out with my sister and BIL as they are here until thursday.

yes, our meetings are still going on , even if there are the World Cup football games on. At least I will we there at our usual spot on Wednesday  at 7 pm. I hope a few others show up too -)))

Well, my plans are changing, but the place I have in mind is called "The Gunpost", so guys feel free to go there.
Hope this is not treated as spam, I just love the place and I know it is quiet enough for a nice talk.

The other option is to make it on Sunday, this way we will not neglect Dr Who.
