Recruitment agencies malta?

usually agencies will not respond to applicants from outside of Malta unless you are on the ' most wanted ' list -)))

I think you mentioned something about a salary of 30 k ? If you have the qualifications for that kind of salary on the Maltese market the agencies will be ' licking you feet ' -))).

On the job section there are lists of agencies. Pick one that suits you job experience and they should get back to you even if you are still in Ireland.

Yeah unfortunately they have not been very responsive! Lots of talk. I have a good cv with good qualifications.
Do they prefer to hire their own or something?

They usually can't hire ' their own' as they need to buy foreign experience in IT.

I can only think of a few explanations for the lack of response:

1) Your good cv and qualifications don't fit the Maltese IT job market.
2) Your salary expectation is way too high?
3) They don't think that you are really prepared to work in Malta until you are here
4You live in Ireland but are you an EU national ?
5)????

How do you mean they need to buy foreign exp in i.t?
1) I'm not specialised in any particular area so don't think that's the problem.
2) Never mentioned a salary, always said 20+

Maybe your lack of specialization in any particular area is exactly the problem. The Maltese IT job market depends a lot on foreign specialists. Checkout IT job descriptions at Castille Resources for example ( Times of Malta careers section). to see what fits your experience.

When I say 'buy' foreign experience I mean eaxactly that. Hire foreign IT specialists with qualifications that are not available  on the Maltese job market in sufficient numbers.

The usual way to access the job market is to move to Malta with some financial reserves and take it from there.

Than you for all the useful info you provide to this forum. Regarding your last sentences ( "The usual way to access the job market is to move to Malta with some financial reserves and take it from there.") it will seem probably logical from your point of view but for others has no sense.
What I want to emphasize is that all the people who is looking for a job abroad, in generally, do not have major financial resources at our disposal and this method is almost impossible...
The correct and fair way of recruiting for valuable overseas candidates seems to give them tests (online) and Skype interviews, and, after that invite those from the shortlists on interviews maybe. Anyhow it is more than adventurous to move in a country "hoping" to find something there...

Correct and fair way has nothing to do with it, which is why Ricky gave his advice. Move over here, with enough financial reserves to be able to sustain oneself and others if necessary and then look. That strategy reflects the reality of the situation here. Some may well gain positions whilst still abroad but most will not.

Just to add from an employer prospective recruiting using agencies is just as frustrating on the island.

Yeah I have been applying directly to companies recently through keep me posted, they come to my email so trying that route instead.

It would be nice to come to Malta with a job lined up, but I do not think Malta is a country where you can do this. My experience is limited, but I moved to Hungary and had a job, house and everything ready to go. My new employer did all of this.
I wanted to do the same in Malta, but that didn't work. Only one response from the dozens of applications, and didn't got a job from that response. Did have an skype interview, but that was it.
I moved to Malta anyway, with my limited resources, and had a job interview with that company. They told me in this interview they do not hire people that are not in Malta as most of the people who come here on the cost of the employer will move back in a short time. The employer does not think you are serious when you apply from abroad.

This is just my, small, experience, might be different in your field of work. And even when you are in Malta, be prepared to not get responses to the applications...

Anyone will be lucky to get any response to any email , especially if they are not in the country.

Yes I understand now, I will travel in February and hopefully get a job then. I feel pretty confident.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience...indeed you're right making some research and talking with lots of other people I understand that Malta is not quite corporate addict. Anyhow I hope that multinational companies from Malta have another kind of approach...

Malta has a fantastic climate, amazing day to day atmosphere (sun is making wonders) , cheerful people, but when we are talking about recruiting, or renting in decent conditions, respecting contracts - from what I've read on this forum things are a little... back in time...
Nevertheless, even in these conditions could be like oasis of peaceful living in fast moving lives we experience in the rest of the Europe...

I can only go on personal experiences as I work in an office where credit control is a dirty word and asking creditors for Payment is like asking for their first born.... I can't tar them all with the same brush as some are brilliant and others are useless.

yeah ya get that everywhere i guess, the maltese seem like a lovely bunch from what i have read so far.
although the recruitment process may be a bit slow. better bring plenty of money
