in light that i am planning to spend Christmas in Barbados 2014, i would like to reiterate the question also, where do the mid elder ex patriots (40+) hang out/meet?  is there official meetups/socials between them. Im coming over on my own and would like to socialise and know more about Barbados.  Ive been told there are such as group/s but can advise me where and contact details?

There are a couple of places that come to mind - Sunday afternoon at Lobster Live is a great place for a swim and a drink while taking in live jazz,  and Mullins Beach Bar Sunday night 5-8 or so if you like live Rock and Roll... take a look at barbados.org/whatsoninbarbados-day.php for an idea of the range of events, and it ramps up during the holidays.  /\\

Have you tried the Beach House in Holetown? Check for their music nights.
