Why not recycling empty plastic bottles in Bali ?

Dear ExpatBlog Bali Community,

We are concerned about the volume of rubbish increasing each year. In 2011, the volume of rubbish in Gianyar County amounted to around 350 cubic meters each day, in 2014 it rose to 1500 c.m./day.

We would like to collect the empty bottles from Warungs and other shops for recycling.

Is there someone who know how to make recycle bin for an affordable price or where to buy such container ?

Kind Regards

If the situation in Bali is the same as in Jakarta, people make a living from collecting them and selling for recycling.
Can anyone say of this is true of Bali?

According to this topic, https://www.expat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=351319, there is some recycling on Bali.

You should get in touch with The Temesi Waste Project in the village of Temesi (Gianyar). This is the first and most established waste recycling facility on Bali.

You might also check out these two organization:  www.eco-bali.com  and www.balirecycle.com

I've been living in Gianyar Regency (not county) in Ubud for the past 16 years.  There has be a great deal of progress in waste management and re-cycling in those years, and much yet to be done.

Good luck with your efforts.

We are live in the plastic world & many plastic packed material used in our life. You are doing best job to collect the waste plastic material from different resources to protect our environment. Well done and Go Head.
