Hi, we are late 50's and have been offered a job in Haiti. since we are empty nesters I am worried about life in Haiti and what it is like now in 2014 and what area (s) should we look to live in....preferably an expat neighborhood.
Also cost of living in Haiti and how to live a comfortable life what would expat salary need be. Thank you for all your help

Good day, You can try to rent at Juvenat where there is better security. Well, life is expensive. But as an expat, I'm sure you will cope. It would take a little while to adjust to life over there. You will learn from that experience. Check with the American embassy for other group and also remember the infrastructure is non existent such as the things you took for granted elsewhere. Enjoy, Haitians are very helpful you will like it I hope. I, myself, wanted to live as expat some day.
