Islands or places in Philippines least effected by typhoon

Wanted to know which places in the Philippines that have the least amount of typhoon activity? Or encounter the least amount of the direct force of a typhoon?

Tagum City

I bit difficult to answer as some typhoons have a 500 mile radius, so they can cover a lot of ground. However, in the main the Northern islands suffer less as do far Western ones (the Typhoons come in from the Pacific which is to the East.) That said, of course Cebu got hit hard recently so it is 'pot luck' - but North, South and West are less prone than the islands to the [central] East that get slammed directly. There does seem to be a "Typhoon Alley" which you can Google easily to get a picture of where the Typhoons generally come from. Of course the can gather speed over land, but typically they head towards the Philippines and then curve Northwards.

Given climate change anything can happen of course. Perhaps in 40 years the Philippines will become a skiing mecca and Europe "middle earth"? ;)
