I am an American living in Jamaica with my wife and 6 yr old. I am a self employed author and speaker and will be speaking in Europe, North America and Caribbean Islands. Can I actually move to Germany with my Jamaican family? My wife does not work, my daughter needs to attend school. What steps do I need to take to begin this process. I used to live in Perlacher Forst when I graduated from high school at the Munich American High School in 1973. I miss it and would like to return. I am 59 years old. Thank you.

As an american you of course get free visa on entry for 90 days. For relocating i read you have to be able to show that you can support yourself and family without depending on the government for help. Check with the german embassy where you live and lm sure they would answer your questions better.
