English speaking people in Madrid

Hi all

I will be moving to Madrid from London at the beginning of September (working as a freelance Medical Writer). I don't know anyone in Madrid other than my boyfriend (pressure!!) so it would be great to meet some English speakers who are more or less permanently settled in Madrid. My Spanish level is pretty basic and it will take me a while to reach fluency, so I don't think I'm at the stage to make native Spanish friends (i.e. those with no English)...
Also any advice is very welcome!
