Looking for friends in Brisbane

Good day!

I'm Paul 30, enjoy socialising, sport (rugby, football, badminton and gym) odd camping and canoeing trip etc. so how are you finding Brisbane? I have job offer with a sponsored visa for Brisbane with a start date at the Start of October - not long now. I have another one coming from Sydney but think its pretty likely I end up in Queensland! I'll be moving over on my own, I know eventually I will make friends through work and other sporting activities but that takes time and I'm a socialble chap and could do with some fellow sporting partners and after work drinking buddies when I arrive! )

So how is Brisbane compared to Sydney? I have been there but never to Brisbane.

I'm moving to Brisbane as well in a few weeks and would love to meet some new people. Through past experience in other countries, I know it's not always easy to develop a social network straight away.

I'm arriving in Brisbane next 15th August, and will stay around there 2 weeks.
Up to now, no specific plans about what to do, visit, move.. I am looking for a job, inorder to evaluate a possible moving from next 2015.
Any suggestions about where to stay for some days there/ where to look?
Nobody accomodating me?

To get work you will need the correct visa. Cannot work on a tourist visa. You should look at applying for a working holiday visa which allows you to work.

Stumpy, I know it. I am just going and taking a look, I'm not working in august, where I am spending my sommer holiday from my Italian job!
