William Henry "Bill" Gates III, founder of MicroSoft

Hello there,  :)

What do you think about him?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_gates:)

He's rich.

He is not an "Expat.com" member!

He doesn't change his underwear very often.

How do your know that Fred?

Hi Primadonna,  :)

Haaa, ha, that's what I was wondering myself ...  :D
However, Primadonna, rest assured MAS FRED always knows something.  All we have to do is find out why ...

Hi Mas Fred,  :|
What the heck happened to you to stop short of the correct answer: Bill is NOT rich, he IS the RICHEST.

He made it easy for expats to become Expat.com members.   :D  ... but not for free: we must buy computers.

(The #1 lesson: always put a price to your work and adjust it to demand or lack thereof!  )

You are right Fred, he has people doing it for him.   :D

You can tell that to bicycle riders in Indonesia, but not to us, real, veteran, specialist, thick skin expats.  :D
Bill has no secrets with the Freds of this world. He busily sells computers to them instead.  And not only that, he - as the #1 magician he is - makes computer owners buy new upgrades often.  We are trapped.
This is why he has been the world's richest man for 20 years and among the world's top three richest men for the past 30+ years. :D
See? No matter what Bill did and how many computer bugs we - PC owners - had to deal with, he always landed high up on the first place.

Fred, when you lie, you must do it in way that makes it look like some truth.  If you cannot do that, you are lost and get nothing even if telling sincere lies ...   :(

May be Melinda Gates do it for him :P

I actually worship Bill.  :)
He is the first man in the history of mankind who united all of us in spirit.

He visited St. Lucia and stayed (how long???) at the former Jalousie Plantation (now Sugar Beach resort) but I, like most other folks, heard about it after he left.

I truly wish to meet him, shake his hand and tell him "Thanks for everything, computer bugs included! ..."  :top:

Hi Anil,  :)
USA markets are closed today, so please allow me to add to your thoughts:

1). We do not know what role the individuals play and they do not want to tell us. (They keep it secret  :( )  Bill Gates managed to show something unique to all of us.  How many thousands of years must pass before we are confronted with a new miracle like Bill's again?

2). With regards to nobody is greater or smaller than you, I remember a song:

Jenny, Jenny dreams are ten a penny
Leave them in the lost and found
Jenny, Jenny dreams are ten a penny
Get your feet back on the ground

3). I already provided a link to Bill's short bio in the initial post at this thread.
He is the new, living God preaching the new religion of knowledge, something which has never been preached before, or when it has, it was for petty cash.
With this new religion, the savior is no longer nailed to the cross, nor is the guru showing how one can go into the woods to starve himself for days at a time thinking he "meditates" like in yoga teachings.
Without knowledge, one can barely use the computer as the computer usage has been intended.
However religion is not encouraged in this forum, so I shall not develop the idea.

The advantage with Bill is that you can meet him and shake his hand whereas with all the other people who thought they were spiritual leaders, you cannot meet them, rendering you unable to show your respect and deep gratitude, something which automatically pushes you back in wishful thinking.

4). Everyone is unique?
This is what Earthians down on their overcrowded planet like to believe about themselves.  It's better for someone if people say he is unique than him taking the liberty to believe so.
Keep in mind: you buy computers from Bill, he does not buy anything from you.

Everybody is an imitator of the original Bill provided. Everybody copies Bill, Bill is so huge he does not copy anybody. (Ohh, Bill, The Great One, I hope you read these lines ...  )

Success is not a 2-way street; it's unidirectional: from those who don't know and need to spend money to know to those who already know because they already paid for their knowledge.  ;)

They say that if advances in car manufacturing had come as fast as advances in software industry (which Bill created), a new luxury car would cost $25.
I hurry to add: imagine the prices for used luxury cars and prices for used regular cars!  …   ;)

Probably one of those buy 2 and get the third one free type offer ....

Ha, haa, Stumpy,  :)
You have the right idea.

Remember that most of what people fantasied about at one time came about at another time.
Jules Verne wrote about undersea explorations, now there is a submarine close to a shore near you.

Star Trek fictionalized space travel, now we are getting ready to colonize Mars and mine rare earths out of passing asteroids ...

Etc., etc., etc. ...  :D

If you wish it badly enough, it will happen ...  :top:

Hello Sir,

I am speech less...

Thanks Anil,  :)

I wish I knew if Bill had stopped for a moment and thought what a genie he was unleashing out of the bottle.

What would the world be today if Bill had chosen to play with motherboards in his garage for his own amusement ignoring the world and the fact that he could unleash the beginning of the tech revolution?

I believe we are in the Stone Age of computer history.

Or he really ripped everyone off at first but prices were forced down over time.

Capitalism in full swing, ...  :)  but if PC users can make a living with Bill's toy then the price is logged at costs, and carries wear and tear.
I am sure Mas Fred you sometimes thank Bill for his genial work. ;)

PS: I hated it when the European Union ruled against Internet Explorer and Bill had to separate the IE browser from the OS, separation which became a fact after Windows XP.
If I had been Bill, I would not have complied with the ruling.

Small people should never harass great men. Amen.

People of the world unite!
Worship Bill while he is still among us.

Never again to bloodletting through crucifixion, no more ridicule while our savior is in pain and no more crowns of thorns please.
Repent while you can.

Bill Gates: There will be no poor countries by 2035
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/bill-gate … 38178.html

I daresay that without PCs and supercomputers from late 1980's on, WWIII would have already happened.

And one more thing.
Bill is the only man in the whole word with the absolute right to go on strike and protest in the streets for the way people use his invention, for the way they complain instead of coming up with inventions of similar magnitude, for how they green with envy gossip about him and for how they became computer typists instead of artful computer users.
Bill has the right to clash with Police and beat them all up. Police officers have no rights whatsoever to defend themselves against a man the importance of Bill.

The greatest success comes when one man alone beats everybody else up
figuratively speaking, not when some people beat other people up literally speaking.

John C. to Bill GATES directly:
Bill, I was, am and will forever be on your side because I can never put up with the hootchie-kootchie men who don't know what is all about and have no class or style.  :thanks:

Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates Faces Calls to Step Down
http://www.eweek.com/enterprise-apps/mi … -down.html

Is it fair for the man who provided the tools for humanity to be united to be asked to quit his position instead of waiting for Bill to step down when he feels he can no longer perform his duties?

If we cannot be as influential and helpful as he was, can't we at least cut him some slack?
What's the rush to replace him for?

For those of you forummers who did not find out as yet, here is the news.

Microsoft names Nadella as CEO, brings Gates era to a close
http://www.cnbc.com/id/101352869?__sour … della%20as

I bet you will like the new CEO's e-mail to Microsoft employees.  :)
To me this is history in progress, and I consider myself lucky to witness it ... and ... share it with all of you.  :top:

Bill Gates is on the world's richest men list again. Here is the article.

Inside the 2014 Forbes Billionaires List: Facts and Figures
http://finance.yahoo.com/news/forbes-bi … 44529.html

Here in this forum we see how expat forummers think, write and say things their way.  However, what matters is common sense.

We are witnessing their hopes and problems for a better as they happen.  I assume that no expat goes from one job in one country to a worse job in another country or to a worse job in a worse country.  Even if some of them do, here is one point I want to make.

I never heard of anybody forgetting about his great vacation plans and go to Seattle, USA instead to meet Bill Gates just to ask him permission to shake his hand and thank him personally for his work and inspiration.

Everybody uses his yearly vacation for his personal amusement but never to meet somebody exceptional to whom he can show respect and gratitude.  Not even once did I hear it done …

If everybody refuses to show his gratitude to those who have hurt him, that's normal behavior, but showing no gratitude and giving no respect to the man who earned it through his exceptional work and achievements shows what?  :/

I am happy that USA with its paradoxes, contrasts and contradiction is the country able to produce a man like Bill Gates.
Because no signs of respect for Bill exist, the number of people who worship him is smaller than those who hate him but we all have gratitude for him in our hearts.

Many people do not even have computer at home and many people use the computer minimally at work.  This will change completely in the favor of computers by 2050.

The fate of great men is to die first for everybody to love them, at least for a while.
Bill Gates is the exception: Neanderthals may have been the first humanoids to rise to biped walking, Bill alone is the first one to move everything up to the brains so that Earthians can finally start to think.
Loved and hated while alive, hate for the great man Bill is will decrease after he is gone:  he will be loved for the next 2,000 years.

Bill is THE ORIGINAL, all the rest of us are the imitators with various rate of success always inferior to that of Bill's.

USA is still ‘The Country' but I do not know for how long.
What the heck do the other 200+ countries of the world produce if they failed to foster the proper environment for topmost innovation?  :/
