Good International schools in Riyadh

Hi everyone,

I will be moving to Riyadh In Shaa Allah by the end of March and my family will be following me towards the end of May once the academic session is completed.

I would like to know of good international schools in Riyadh in the range of 20-25K SR per year. I have 3 daughters aged between 4-8. I have heard good stuff about Manarat Al Riyadh, Learning Caravan and King Abdul Aziz but would like your opinions as well. Suggestions regarding other schools are also more than welcome.

I understand that British International and American International schools are good but they are too expensive. Please enrich me with your valuable advice. All help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Nauman

Dear Nauman

Minnarat can cost you up to 30 - 40k. You can also explore following schools:

1. Pakistan International School, English Section
2. British Alameen Islamic School
3. Learning Oasis International

These are some good options, if you have specific requirements for the school besides budget, you can send me message and I'll try to help. You can also contact me once you're in Riyadh, I'll be happy to help you out with any issue.

@TAnsari,

PIS - English section is not taking new student (atleast as I heard) this year in Reception. I am trying my level best for my son who is eligible for admission. It seems almost impossible without no reference :( Could someone please help? They're about to announce admission plan end of March for the new session

@TAnsari

Thank you dear sir for the sound advice and suggestions.

I have noted the names of the schools tou have mentioned. However there are some other questions that I had.

1. The website of Manarat shows a fee of 22,500 SR which reaches a max of 30,000 SR for the highest classes. Is this information incorrect ?

2. What is the feedback regarding Learning Caravan and King Abdul Aziz Internatiomal School ?

3. I have heard good stuff about Alalameen British International school as well but then they have limited seats. Infact when I called them they told me they have onky 4 seats for next year.

4. How is King Saud ?.

5. I will be working in King Faisal Specialist Hospital In Shaa Allah. Which will be yhe closest and the best school from there ?.

Thank you so much for all your help. I will remain grateful.

Nauman

Sir can you please see my next post and kindly address my questions please.

Best regards,

Nauman

Hi,
As a Saudi citizen I would not recommend Manarat Ar-Riyadh's School, and the prices they have mentioned in their website I (THINK) they are for the Arabic Section not for the International Section.

I've heard a lot about King Abdulaziz International School, and I know that Al-Aafaq School and King Faisal School are ones of the best and most expensive International Schools in Riyadh.

Good luck
Regards,

1. Manarat would cost you up to 30K per year with tution, transportation, stationary, activities etc.

2. Both Learning Caravan and King Abdul Aziz schools are good. If you're inquiring about quality and suitability of their education for your children, I am not the right person to answer that. You have to define objective of education for your children. Are you interested in providing them modern education blended with Islamic education such as Quran memorization, Fiqh etc? Are you interested in providing them modern education only? Do you want them to learn Urdu? Based on your objectives you will have to shortlist schools and then go explore possible admission of your child over there.

3. Alameen is also good, but I don't like them. That's my personal choice based on my interpretation of what I want for my kids. They usually have space available, but you have to register well in advance.

4. King Saud is good as well.

5. Learning Caravan, Alameen will be closest. Jowahir Al Rriyadh is also in close proximity. Other schools are within 10 kilometers distance except Manarat, that is probably about 20 kilometers from your office.

my kids are going in al alameen british islamic school. i,m satisfied with studies especially their islamic education is a great blessing for us. they r studying british and saudi curriculum. and annual fee for 1 kid is 17000 sr. 5 yrs back when we moved in riyadh  we tried pakistan international school but as usual they had no seats then we went to learning carvan . this is good for early classes but in higher grade without books planner is quiet difficult . it looks like tuition centre . arabic , islamic education is not compulsory.my daughter studied there till grade 3 then she moved to al alameen british islamic school. they have lots of activities for kids. please keep in ur mind , schools and their envoirement is  totally different from pakistant. all school r covered with high walls , reason is pardah. and second thing male is not allowed to go inside the school.

where it is located.

Hi there,
Anyone has an experience with Saud international school?

Thanks

My children will start at Saudi International School this year, We visited lots of schools, and thought this was the best in our price range + feedback is very positive from parents whose children go there

Thanks for your reply. My son will be at reception. I went today but I couldn't visit their building it was closed. I went to their registration office and I was not impressed with it! I hope the actual premises are better!!!
I wanted to meet the teachers but they will be available next week. I feel they have a decent education system and good activities, and the admin staff told me daddy can enter the school and talk to the teacher which is what we are looking for: total parents involvement!! But I'm not sure about that though, too good to be true!!. Anyway will see next week..

Good luck :)

I prefer Home Schooling through USA Academies online for my daughters Grade 3 & 4
There are many advantages in Home Schooling compare top a 3rd class teaching standard here, most of the teach can't pronounce English properly ..... if anyone wants to share Home Schooling experience with me, welcome !

My boys have been at Saud since kindergarten. Now going into grades 4 and 5 but we are moving then to another school. Saud is going down hill fast. The building is totally unpractical For a school and I would say a danger in event of a fire. Value for money there are much better ones men cannot enter the forks section and women cannot ever the boys section so there is no family  involvement

I don't see any practical school here. Children can't understand anything from the teachers who speak English with Arabic accent and have no idea what they are teaching ....  My daughters study online from a reputed US School and they are speedway to sky ... very happy ... relaxed ... no need to waste hours on the road and get tired for nothing
I suggest online homeschooling from USA for parents who really want their kids to learn while they are busy making money around.

Hi,
My daughters study at 104 years old Home School from USA, very economical. Amazing curriculum. If you are in Riyadh, we can help you to be on track. The good thing is that your son can complete the Grade as fast as you want and the certificate will be from USA accredited School.
About good English learning site, you will have to write me on my email saeedmirza69 (at) g mail (dot) com and I 'll send you some video links where you can easily learn and teach your kids.
Bye
