Al jasra

Is al Jasra a nice quiet neighborhood? Posh ? How is the air quality there? Relative to the rest of Bahrain
My husband will be working in Saudi and I'm looking for a place for us to live. I'm a home body and like peace and quiet. Our children are grown.
Response much appreciated

Could people tell me there favorite areas of bahrain and why they like it then?

I love Seef, Juffair, Adliya, Reef Island. Seef is good because it's got a lot of shopping places. Juffair is good because it's got lots of bars and clubs nearby. Adliya is good for its restaurants and walking places and Reef Island is good because of it's beautiful neighbourhood and compound life right in the centre of the city. I live in Seef because it's close to my work.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I've never been in bahrain

Jasra is great as long as you stay away from the Old Hamala part and its close to the causeway.  However, its very expensive for that reason and I actually think its boring but then I like to feel like I live in Bahrain.

We live in Janabiya which I love because its close to the causeway, schools and there is life here but its Bahraini life, I love that we can go to the local baker for fresh bread, that we can go to the local veg man, the local restaurant and the Bahraini's here are fantastic.

If your husband doesnt mind a bit of a drive this side of the causeway you could look at Reef Island, Riffa Views and Zallaq.  I have friends who live in Zallaq - its a new, beautiful compound opposite the Sofitel (membership included if you get your negotiating head on).  Too far south for me but in your circumstances it could work.

I live in Riffa Views and love it. Its calm and quiet. Ideal for those who need quiet time for studies, reading, relaxation and the like. Its also close to East Riffa, which gives it a local flavour similar to scottrace's experience in Janabiya. Riffa Views is also good if you are into golf since the development is built around the Royal Golf Course. Owing to its central location (geographically), its generally 20 minutes away from almost anywhere in Bahrain.

My two cents worth to add to your confusion :)

Best wishes.

Yes Al Jasra is a very good quiet area but better to live in a compound

I live in Saar near the new Saar Mall and St Christopher's school. Very quiet, peaceful area, a lot of the ambassadors live close by so there is never any trouble here. Close to causeway, very close to Saudi causeway, property reasonable - Seef and Adliya/Juffair 10 - 15 mins away due to new roads opening. Also close to expat clubs for a few drinks and socialising.
