I was wondering how easy it would be to move to Guatemala?

Hi,

I'm trying to make connections. My wife, kids, and I are hoping to possibly move to Guatemala. I would like to teach English, and start a few businesses.

I was wondering how easy it would be to move there?

I just have so many questions. I was wondering if you'd be willing to e-mail me? If so, my e-mail is [email protected]. I hope to hear from you.

Query re Authenticating Documents for Guatemala's Immigration Agency

I am seeing there is still a thing called getting visa documentation
"Authenticated," and I do remember when I came to Guatemala
back in 1975 that I had done this for a number of documents before
arriving in the hope of getting a resident visa here in Guatemala.

This time around (still married to same Guatemalan), I am looking
for a  visa for a foreign retiree probably, right?  I assume this one
would be much easier???

Nowadays can one simply FAX or e-mail a document somewhere
and get something appropriate back the same way by the next
day?

Is there a list somewhere of which documents must go through
which process and to which address?

Any advice would be most welcome---thanks!

a42.com/site/pg/s/63/73 is a good place to start. The residency information is on a child page. The retiree process is easy but being married to a Guatemalan may be easier. As a retiree you need to show $1000/mo of retirement income. No FAX or email of documents (for the obvious reason that it would be too easy to falsify).

The .migracion.gob.gt/] Immigration[/url] web site will tell you everything you need to know.
