I sit here thinking that perhaps issues / topics which have not been settled in the past (better said: in Expat-Blog.com's more than 7-year past) could be re-addressed now from a better perspective and with answers from forummers who are more experienced now than 7+ years ago.

Sure I can.
I already started a new topic referring with a link to the 'old' one which was not closed, and I also posted in the 'old' one a link back to the new one.
This way, posters in the 'old' get notified there is something new for them.
The new thread received answers too.
I was wondering if the 'old' thread is already closed, how to notify the posters but then I already answered the question myself: I just send PMs to every poster individually so that they know there is something new waiting for them.
