You must have accepted Visa and then put request for permanent residence. When this request is approved you must stay in Croatia 5 yrs. Without travel out from Croatia longer than 6 months at once, or 10 months combined if u travel many times out.

uk citizen married to Croatian wife. tempory visa, a year for 4 years. Then apply for permenant visa and passport. Info might change after July 1st.

Since 1.Jan.2012. they increased residency requirement to obtain citizenship from five to 8 years...

After 5 years of temporary residence, you can apply for permanent residence and after total of 8 years of residence (TR+PR) you can apply for citizenship.
For citizenship, you will probably have to take exam in Croatian language and Croatian culture (you get the script with certain number of questions you might be asked).
I don't really understand why those idiots from our government are making moving in Croatia so difficult...
