Doing business in Zimbabwe

Hi,

are foreign investors welcome in Zimbabwe?

Is it complicated to register a company in Zimbabwe? What is the procedure?

What is the corporate tax rate in Zimbabwe?

Is it easy to recruit?

Any advice you would share with us?

Thank you very much for your participation,

Julien

1. Zimbabwe and its people are one of the most friendly and kind in the world. We welcome foreign investors for all business types.

2. Registering a company in Zimbabwe is not complicated. It may take about 48 hours to have the company registered. The procedure is as follows:

(i) You do a name search to confirm if the name you want to use is not being used already.
(ii) When the name is clear, then you proceed to lodge company details, to the Registrar of companies. These details include the Memorandum of Association, the Articles of Association, the list of shareholders, the list of directors and the address of the company.
(iii) Then company documents will be availed to you in 24-48 hours.

3. Corporate tax is 25.75% currently.

4. It is very easy to recruit. We boast of a highly skilled and hardworking labour force. This is one of the country's competitive edge.

5. Advice:
It is the right time to take up opportunities in Zimbabwe. We are coming out of a decade of recession, and asset prices have not recovered to the levels we anticipate them to. We have a lot of interest from foreigners in mining and real estate investments.

Currently Zimbabwe is implementing laws on sharing resources between foreign investors and local people as a way of empowering the nationals.

Thank you Progress Mambo for your input :)
