My experience has been there is humidity. It not a dry heat like AZ.

Thanks, but AZ is not as dry as some might think. With the large population and the intriduction of non-native plants the humdity as gone up. My concern will Panama be to humid for someone with COPD.

Panama is definitely humid.
http://larrytravels.typepad.com/ this is the blog of a guy with COPD who lived here for quite a few years, and has since returned to the US for medical care. I see an email link on the lower left, so perhaps he would be willing to talk with you a bit.
