Anyone know planting dates for vegetable seeds (like tomatoes) in a kitchen garden in the city? And where to get the best manure/topsoil to enrich poor soil?

You can plant tomatoes any time. Just make sure if the area is large, get net covering to keep birds away. Also, you may need pest control. Try the guys who sell plants along Ngong Road near the Nairobi showground for manure and red soil if your soil is poor. They may also sell or advice on where you can get compost if need be.
