I am an American and took an oil and gas job in Malabo. I move to Malabo in November 2013. I was wondering if it would be better for me to learn Spanish or French, since I know both are official languages. Does everyone speak both languages, or do most people only speak Spanish?

Learn Spanish! Equatorial Guineans speak mostly spanish and a few speak French but they will tell you that : We Guineans speak Spanish! Then if you have time you can learn French but it is not so necessary. You will also find Guineans who speak English.
