Doing business in Armenia

Hi,

are foreign investors welcome in Armenia?

Is it complicated to register a company in Armenia? What is the procedure?

What is the corporate tax rate in Armenia?

Is it easy to recruit?

Any advice you would share with us?

Thank you very much for your participation,

Julien

NO  NOTHING GOOD IN ARMENIA

Hi alkesh_786786,

welcome to Expat.com!

Could you please introduce yourself and be more explicit?

Thank you,

Hi

I am here in Armenia from last 2 years.
1. Here you have to pay taxes before start any business.
2. Monthly Taxes very high.
3. If you foreigner Rent very high.
4. After all you must Pay to Mafia every month or what you decide with him.

So after all this you cant do any business.Nothing you can earn even you pay from your pocket if you want to continue otherwise it will close automatic.

You are welcome....

Hey Alkesh...lol...too bad you have had such a bad experience in Armenia...I suggest you leave.  It's interesting what you say...just last year 24 new International brands entered the Armenian market...maybe you just need to brush up on your business skills...Cheers!!!!!!

Thanks Anthony111 for advocating Armenian business atmosphere

Though my comments on the topic won't be promising.

As an Armenian national with BA in economics I can state the following:

the recent researches show that transactional risks very high due to weak legislation or not professional application of it.

Not always the courts will be just.
There is risk that some smart fellows would try to play on your poor knowledge  of the Armenian laws.

And the most there is little chance that your right of property will be protected as it should be.

Antony is right stating about international brands that have entered, but the case is different with individual entrepreneurs,
And about the mafia: there is no such one here, well, at least whilst you are not a sweet peace of pie for a certain government representative or one that has a protection of such.

Anyway for example IT is welcomed and flourishing here especially when you use local specialists combined with outsourcing the orders.

couple words about taxes
the corporate tax is only 20% (there are couple more taxes that you still are obliged with its a little complicated) but the problems is that you usually pay not what you have calculated in real but what tax authorities think that you have to pay.
