Do and don't in Palestine

Are you living in Palestine? We need you to share your experience of the local customs :)

Is it difficult to adjust to the local customs in Palestine?

Could you please share with us a list of the do's and don't's in Palestine?

Thanks!

Don'ts:
- eat or drink during the month of Ramadan in public before IFTAR (fast breaking meal)
- Refuse to drink something if you are invited somewhere / visiting somebody
- ask for half a glass to drink (e.g. tea, juice). This is considered unpolite.

Do:
- bargin
- "great" people whenever you can (Marhaba, Hello, ... foreign or local language - this does not matter)
- accept invitations, having guests is part of the Arabic culture

Lovely pieces of advise...I will surely remember them.

Just two weeks ago I posted on my blog*** a short reminiscence (called 'Buddy Holly's father') in which I told of an incident many, many years ago when my travelling companion and I were inadvertently rude to some shepherds in Palestine (Jordan at the time) by keeping them waiting for their evening meal during Ramadan. Very embarrassing, but they forgave us - as they were bound to do. We never made that mistake again.
